A Swedish Fika with Nina

Meeting in one’s home for a traditional Swedish Fika is a strong tradition for me. During the summer months, it often takes place at your summerhouse with local neighbours and friends. At times, friends from the city visit for the day or staying over (just like the photo where I am sitting on my Mother’s lap at our summer house). It is a joyful occasion to come together over a coffee or tea with a sweet treat. And at the moment, I am working on a lovely collaboration which is centred around the Swedish Fika.

The classic Swedish biscuits seen here, have been made by @mostbakeryalty and they all take me right back to my childhood. Still work in progress as they are part of my new collaboration but I have thoroughly enjoyed testing them. (Lukas and I have two firm favourites)

Pause and look after yourself for a moment or two. Let the conversation take its own direction. Nurture your wellbeing and mindfulness 🌿

For today’s Fika I have used our Gotland tray and coasters, olive green linen napkins with my original Arabia coffee set from Finland. The biscuit selection are drömmar (dreams), chokladsnittar (chocolate slices) and hallongrottor (well, rasberry caves!)

The Swedish cotton table runner and napkin rings are called Arholma and I absolutely love this one. A touch of William Morris style and such gorgeous colours. The Hygge candle by @apoldapothecary is my favourite scent and just perfect to celebrate the end of a long January month.
