Swedish Christmas Décor 2025: Tradition with a Touch of Whimsy
There’s something truly magical about Swedish Christmas decor in Sweden — the soft glow of candles in every window, snow-dusted rooftops, and that unmistakable feeling of mysig (cosy togetherness). I spent last week back home and couldn’t resist exploring what’s trending this festive season — and it’s clear that tradition is taking centre stage.
This year’s Swedish Christmas décor trends feel very homestead — natural, warming, and full of charming, handcrafted details. The colour palette is classically Scandinavian: deep reds, crisp whites, and natural textures of wood, linen and wool. Everywhere I looked, there was a sense of comfort and craftsmanship — homes styled with love and simplicity, where every detail felt intentional.

One of my favourite sights back home is the glow of paper stars hanging in every window. As the long winter nights draw in, these illuminated stars light up the streets with a soft, golden warmth. It’s such a beautiful tradition — a symbol of light, hope and togetherness that perfectly captures the spirit of a Swedish Christmas.

Table settings trends this year were equally inviting: red and white plates layered on natural linens, gingham napkins tied with ribbons, and even red serving bowls shaped like festive bows — playful yet elegant. Christmas trees were dressed with hand-sewn ornaments, straw decorations and the most delightful little mice in hats and striped outfits. There was a wonderful sense of nostalgia and personality in every home, each decoration telling a story.

Another trend I loved seeing was the abundance of artificial amaryllis stems — tall, striking, and timelessly festive. Their rich red and soft pink tones bring natural beauty indoors and perfectly echo my new Amaryllis Rilona tableware design, inspired by the same flower. Available in white, pink and red, the design captures the warmth and elegance of a Swedish Christmas — traditional yet effortlessly refined.
I also noticed how birch wood trays are being used to serve festive drinks, from glögg to sparkling water, bringing a natural, rustic touch to entertaining. They create a beautiful, layered look on the table and make it easy to bring warmth and charm to any festive gathering. Our range of Swedish birch wood trays work perfectly for the festive season.
This year’s look is all about creating warmth, connection, and charm — bringing together nature, light and tradition to celebrate the season in true Scandinavian style.
