Introducing “Viktor and Maria”: A Floral Design Inspired for Spring 2026.
Every Nina D design begins with a story, and Viktor and Maria is deeply personal. Inspired by my grandparents, who lived on the serene island of Gotland, Sweden, this design captures a slice of their life—full of warmth, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

The design features the delicate Philadelphus coronarius, a white flower bush that once grew tall by my grandparents’ entrance. Settled against soft green leaves, the blooms evoke the calm and timeless beauty of their home. With layered hand-printed cut-out flowers, Viktor and Maria creates a striking two dimensional effect that comes alive when photographed, transforming a simple floral motif into an artwork with depth and character.

Beyond the flowers, the design celebrates the essence of their life. Viktor was an exceptional entrepreneur, smoking fish for exclusive restaurants in Stockholm, while Maria cooked incredible feasts. I remember the long tables set with handmade white tablecloths and napkins, decorated with flowers from the garden and tall tapered candles—a celebration of craft, care, and togetherness.

Our placemats and coasters bring this story into daily life. Handcrafted in England from sustainable eucalyptus hardboard, with non-slip cork backing and lacquered melamine resin, they are functional, beautiful, and rooted in tradition—echoing my Swedish upbringing and the family rituals that inspired this design.
Viktor and Maria, new design is more than a floral pattern—it’s a tribute to heritage, family, and the art of living beautifully. Follow along as we bring this design from inspiration to reality, capturing the stories and craftsmanship that make each Nina D creation truly special.
