To honour my beloved grandparents, Maria and Viktor, who lived on the Swedish island of Gotland, I’ve created a special table setting with my hand-illustrated tableware. The design is inspired by the island’s iconic limestone rock formations that line its coastal shores. My goal was to craft a table that felt both warm and welcoming, yet elegant, with golden accents to capture the essence of the island’s natural beauty.

The pure linen table runners, in a soft natural hue, set a serene tone, complemented by mustard yellow napkins that add a touch of vibrancy. I’ve always adored the delicate robins nestled amongst the candle centerpiece, a small but meaningful detail. These elements evoke fond memories of my childhood, when my family would travel from Stockholm to Gotland for Christmas celebrations. I’ll never forget the sight of the long table, beautifully set with a full linen tablecloth, tall tapered candles, and a buffet of exquisite dishes, all prepared with love.

And like it was yesterday, I would run towards my grandmother standing in the doorway, her arms wide open, and her first words always being, “Have you missed me, dear Nina?”
