Blommor translates from Swedish as “flowers”.
This design began with a discovery at our Swedish summerhouse — an original blue and green floral fabric dating back to 1975.
I was told that my mother, Ida-Lilja, bought this fabric in 1975 to decorate the country retreat my parents had purchased at the beginning of their relationship.
The moment I rediscovered it, I knew I had to bring this beautiful piece of Swedish history back to life.
Blommor 1975 represents more than a floral pattern. It is a celebration of love, family memories and the special places that continue to inspire the Nina D collection.

Materials
Each Blommor 1975 large round placemat is individually handmade in Britain using sustainably sourced eucalyptus board, selected for its strength, durability and smooth finish.
The 0.5cm thick eucalyptus board is finished with a superior melamine gloss surface, creating a practical and elegant finish that is:
- Heat resistant up to 140°C (320°F)
- Scratch resistant
- Stain resistant
- Easy to wipe clean
A non-slip cork backing protects your dining surface while keeping the placemat securely in place.
The Blommor 1975 artwork is created from an original Swedish vintage fabric dating back to 1975. The fabric has been carefully photographed and transformed into a unique tableware collection, preserving the character and beauty of the original textile.
