Bring contemporary Scandinavian elegance to your home with the Gotland square coaster, featuring a beautifully hand illustrated coastal design inspired by the natural landscapes of Gotland, Sweden. Created by Swedish artist Nina Daniels using her original watercolour artwork and renowned two-dimensional layering technique, this design captures the earthy tones, textures and timeless beauty of Sweden’s largest island.
The high-gloss lacquered melamine finish offers both beauty and practicality, creating a durable surface that is heat resistant up to 140°C, scratch resistant and easy to wipe clean. Perfect for protecting tables from mugs, glasses and serving dishes while adding an elegant decorative detail to everyday dining and entertaining.
Every coaster is meticulously handcrafted in England using sustainably sourced eucalyptus board. Each piece is carefully hand cut, hand laminated, finished with a non-slip cork backing and beautifully lacquered around the edges, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship behind every Nina D collection.
Complete your table setting with matching Gotland large round placemats (31cm), rectangular placemats (38 × 29cm) and Swedish birch wood serving trays. Each piece is sold individually, allowing you to mix and match to create a beautifully layered Scandinavian-inspired tablescape.
Every coaster arrives beautifully gift wrapped in satin-finish tissue paper with bespoke Nina D satin ribbon. Your order also includes a handwritten note and a leaflet sharing the inspiration behind the artwork, all carefully packaged using environmentally friendly recyclable materials.
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 working days.
Design Inspiration – Gotland, Sweden
Gotland is Sweden’s largest island in the Baltic Sea, where my grandparents lived and where I spent many blissful childhood holidays. The island’s distinctive limestone rock formations, known locally as Rauks, are shaped over centuries by the sea and wind, creating unique natural sculptures along the coastline.
This hand illustrated design is inspired by one of these iconic formations, Kaffepannan (“Coffee Pot”), capturing the beautiful natural colours, textures and sculptural shapes that make Gotland such a special place. A celebration of Swedish heritage, family memories and the landscapes that continue to inspire my designs.
