Each Nina D design begins with a story. Meticulously hand illustrated by Nina using her signature two-dimensional layering technique, the Gotland design captures the textures and colours of the Swedish landscape. Although the artwork has a beautiful layered appearance, the finished surface is completely smooth, durable and easy to care for.
Inspired by Nina’s Swedish upbringing, every design is named after a person or place close to her heart. Gotland celebrates a very personal connection to Sweden, reflecting childhood memories, family traditions and the natural beauty of the island.

Design Inspiration – Gotland
Gotland is Sweden’s largest island in the Baltic Sea, where Nina’s grandparents lived and where she spent many treasured childhood holidays.
The island is famous for its distinctive limestone rock formations, known locally as Rauks. Sculptured by the sea and wind over thousands of years, these natural formations create some of Sweden’s most recognisable coastal landscapes.
Nina’s watercolour illustration represents Kaffepannan (“The Coffee Pot”), one of these remarkable rock formations, celebrating the natural colours, textures and quiet beauty of this special Swedish island.
