Design Inspiration – Gotland
Gotland is Sweden’s largest island in the Baltic Sea, where Nina’s grandparents lived and where she spent many treasured childhood holidays.
The island is famous for its distinctive limestone rock formations, known locally as Rauks. These natural sculptures have been shaped by the sea and wind over thousands of years, creating unique silhouettes along the coastline.
Nina’s original watercolour illustration represents Kaffepannan (“The Coffee Pot”), one of these remarkable rock formations. The artwork celebrates the beautiful natural colours, textures and timeless character of this special Swedish landscape.
