Design Inspiration – Ingria
The Ingria design is inspired by the traditional Swedish weaving technique Näver, created using bark from birch trees.
Nina was first introduced to this beautiful craft by her grandfather, Viktor, who emigrated to Sweden from Telise Village just outside Leningrad during the Second World War.
Viktor was an exceptional craftsman and a proud Ingrian, and his heritage became an important connection to Nina’s own Scandinavian story. The Ingria design celebrates this tradition through a contemporary interpretation of woven textures, honouring craftsmanship, family history and the beauty of natural materials.
