Each tray is individually handcrafted using carefully selected materials:

• FSC certified Scandinavian birch wood
• Laminated melamine-based surface

The Karlaplan design captures a unique rainy day street scene in soft beige, grey and pink tones. Meticulously hand illustrated by Nina, each person within the artwork is individually drawn, cut out by hand and layered onto the street scene before being photographed. Design Inspiration – Karlaplan

Karlaplan is inspired by the open park plaza in Östermalm, one of Stockholm’s most elegant and exclusive districts.

The circular piazza was designed in the image of Place de l’Étoile in Paris and remains one of the most beautiful locations in the Swedish capital. Surrounded by historic architecture, cafés, boutiques and city life, Karlaplan captures the timeless elegance of Stockholm’s urban landscape.

The rainy day scene reflects the beauty found in everyday moments — people walking through the city, the changing reflections on wet streets and the quiet atmosphere of Stockholm life. Through layered illustration, Nina celebrates the connection between architecture, nature, people and place, transforming a familiar city scene into a unique piece of functional art.
